  A mouthwash is an aid in total oral care of consumers. It is of more benefit to consumers who do not floss their teeth, since the mouthwash goes between the teeth and prevents the formation of plaque (germs) which are the principal cause of tooth decay and gum problems. A mouthwash also gets rid of germs which reside on the tongue and other inaccessible areas where the toothbrush does not reach thereby freshening the breath and preventing bad breath.
