Through the “Little' Dentist Program”, Colgate made children the ambassadors of Oral Health.
In its commitment to serve the society by improving the standard of oral hygiene, Colgate had mobile vans plying in underprivileged areas with dentists conducting free dental check-ups, therein.
During Oral Health Month in 2008, Colgate reached out to the masses using various touch points.
In India, the Indian Dental Association (IDA), has been a strong partner since 1976 for Colgate's oral health education initiatives and they have been supporting Colgate with Oral Health Month since its introduction in 2004. In 2008 during the Oral Health Month (OHM) campaign, Colgate once again partnered with the Indian Dental Association, to offer free dental check-ups.
OHM 2008 had a wider reach, touching more consumers and impacting more lives. Over 500,000 free In-clinic Dental Check-ups were conducted by 10,290 dentists across 214 towns. The message ‘Are your clean teeth hiding signs of decay’ was spread in homes and communities
Factory check-ups
During Oral Health Month 2008, free dental check-ups were conducted at Colgate- Palmolive’s factories in Goa & Baddi. These check-ups were extended to other factories in the vicinity, as well as to neigbouring areas. All participants appreciated the activity greatly and the program helped in truly spreading the message of good oral hygiene to everyone.
School dental camps
It is said that life long habits are formed at an early age. The oral health well being of children has always been a concern for Colgate. During OHM 2008, free dental check ups were conducted in 35 schools spread across five major cities in India.
