These specially equipped dental mobile vans operated in the under-privileged areas where people have limited access to dental care,and there is the need to create awareness for good oral health care habits. The awareness levels of good oral hygiene habits continue to remain abysmally low in these areas. The dentists in the OHM Mobile Dental Vans not only conducted the check-ups, but also encouraged and educated children and their parents on good oral hygiene practices.
In 2008 Colgate organized 20 mobile vans and conducted over 90,000 free dental check-ups in the underprivileged areas in New Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Bangalore.
