This year, the Public Dental Check-ups conducted in association with the Indian Dental Association(IDA), became a leading campaign for establishing and promoting improved oral health habits in India. ‘Mission Towards Zero Tooth Decay’ was the theme of the Oral Health Month 2007. Free Public Dental Check-ups were organized in as many as 175 cities and 432 villages and small towns by 8300 dentists as part of Oral Health Month activities. A direct interaction with over 4,50,000 people was made possible.
In addition to free public check-ups in Dental Clinics, dental examinations were conducted in over 250 rural villages, 132 corporate offices, 15 factories. Also, Mobile vans extended the reach of the programme in the underprivileged areas in metros of Mumbai and Delhi.
