Oral Health Month 2005 was Colgate's largest nation-wide initiative. This year, the activities were significantly scaled up and it spread across 50 cities including free public dental check-ups and oral care education in schools. Colgate in association with IDA mobilized over 3,600 dentists to conduct free dental check ups at the clinics of the dentists over a period of 2 weeks in each of the 50 cities, to allow maximum number of people to avail of the offer.
In addition, there were dental mobile vans to provide oral health check-ups and education in slum areas in Mumbai and Delhi. Consumer activities, across cities, were designed to enhance awareness about oral hygiene. Simultaneously, 1 million free oral care kits were distributed that highlighted the importance of good oral hygiene, providing simple steps that everyone can use to fight the risk of tooth decay and encouraging people to look after their teeth, whatever their age. |
