The School Contact Program was one of the
many activities under the Oral Health Month Campaign. For
this activity we contacted 30 schools in each of the 7 metros
(Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad)
and conducted the program among children from Class I-V. The
School Contact Program comprised of:
Main School Activity - A 30 minute
capsule focusing on educating children about oral care in a fun
filled and enjoyable manner.
'Spread a Smile Concert' - Children
in these schools (from Class I-V) participated in this contest
where they had to write a song on the theme 'Spread a Smile'.
This contest received 33,587 entries from across the country.
A total of 630 entries across 7 cities were selected (Top 3
entries from each school) by the respective school teachers.
This list was then forwarded to our eminent Judge, the famous
lyricist, Javed Aktar who selected the best 5 from each city.
The winners were flown to Mumbai to participate in the 'Spread a
Smile' Concert to be held on the 7th of October
2004.
'Spread a Smile Collage
Contest' - Each of the classes in every school made
a collage on the theme of 'Spread a Smile.' A panel of
teachers selected the winners who were then given prizes by
Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd.
