Supporting Children with Hearing Impairment
DEEDS Public Charitable Trust is an NGO in Mumbai that is committed to helping persons with hearing impairment. Since 2004, DEEDS has been conducting an annual Quiz Compeptition "QUEST", for the children from the special schools for the deaf in Mumbai. Quest was conceptualized to inculcate regular reading habits which has, as a result of this competitive quiz, reportedly increased other knowledge enhancing activities. Quest has largely helped in instilling a healthy competitive spirit among the students from deaf schools in Mumbai. The focus of the students is on assimilating knowledge from books to prepare well for the quiz-competition-an activity that the children look forward to participating in, every year.
Colgate-Palmolive India has been supporting DEEDS since 2005, with gift hampers for the Deaf to encourage the teams participating.

Supporting Girls at Risk
Maria Sharan is a project for girls in difficult circumstances at Pune, India. It provides a residential home for abandoned girls who were rescued from streets, stations and slums. The organization is sponsoring education for these girls and strives to produce self reliant, empowered young women.
In December 2010, Maria Sharan organized a health and hygiene awareness program for about 300 children comprising of the inmates and less privileged children from the neighborhood. Colgate-Palmolive India, supported the programme by distributing toothpastes and toothbrushes thus encouraging good oral hygiene habits amongst these children.

Helping Cancer Patients
Patients Aid & Research Trust, Mumbai, took children, undergoing treatment for Cancer at the Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai, for a three-day excursion trip to Goa on 18 November 2010. The excursion added some good cheer to these children, hailing from weak economic backgrounds, undergoing treatment for cancer at the Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
The change in environment helped the children to interact with other children, playing and experiencing the joy of life.
Colgate-Palmolive India was happy to support in a small way by gifting their products to widen the smile on these faces.
