Supply Chain
A Supply Chain Management Trainee's program will comprise stints in :
MANUFACTURING
Duration: 7 months
Nature of Project/Assignment: This assignment involves understanding production processes in the manufacturing units and the contract manufacturing set-up at Colgate CPIL Environment. There are some building blocks at our plants - Environment, Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Quality Standards and guidelines (QS&G), Microbiology. You will develop an understanding on these aspects. You will also get good insight into the challenges on the shop floor and ways of dealing with them.
The assignment will also give you insights into Preventive Maintenance and Material Planning at the plant.
Learning: You will appreciate the basics of operations - Dynamics between Man, Material and Machine at the end of this stint. You will also get to be a part of the new initiatives aimed at improving plant performance.

MATERIAL PLANNING & LOGISTICS
Duration: 2-1/2 months
Nature of Project/Assignment: This stint will familiarise you with logistics and material planning from the point of manufacture till final delivery at the stockist point, including all the processes relating to the warehouses and transportation. You will also be exposed to the SAP functionalities related to this area.
Learning: You will gain an exposure to the interaction between Supply Chain and Demand Chain and an understanding of the linkages within Supply Chain. You will develop an understanding on various efforts that go behind 'On time and complete delivery' to our customers.

SALES
Duration: 1 month
Nature of Project/Assignment: You will undertake a shadow Sales Territory Supervisor (STS) for one month which will provide you an opportunity to learn the art and science of Sales in Colgate-Palmolive from an experienced STS.
Learning: You will learn about the Colgate-Palmolive Sales systems - Distribution network, Stockist management, Salesforce management and gain in-depth knowledge of how to leverage technology in sales.

MARKETING
Duration: 1 month
Nature of Project/Assignment: You'll be exposed to consumer promotions, designing a product launch and exploring new channels.
Learning: This stint will add to your perspective of the portfolio of Colgate-Palmolive and 'Go to Market' strategies. You will get to work on live projects and hence gather a wealth of information through this stint.

CUSTOMER MARKETING
Duration: 1 month
Nature of Project/Assignment: Customer Marketing is a part of the larger Sales team in an organization. Its role is to get products into the store, off the shelf, and into the shopper's home. Thus, "Getting the shopper to buy" is the main job of Customer Marketing making it more externally focused. Your project aims at increasing understanding about the role & importance of 5Ps by Retail Environment - the 5Ps being Product Assortment, Placement, Promotions, Pricing & POP Media.
Learning: The four key deliverables about which you will learn are :
- The Go to Market Strategy - how to reach the shopper
- Shopper and Retail Environment Expertise
- Channel Strategy - tailoring our strategies by retail environments
In addition to this, you will get exposure to the Human Resource and Finance functions for a couple of weeks.
On confirmation: Upon confirmation, you would be posted in one of our plants to get hands on experience in Operations,
or you could be posted in the Material Planning function at our Head Office.
