A Human Resources Management Trainee's program will comprise stints in :

PLANT HR

Duration: 3 months

Nature of Project/Assignment: In this stint you will be introduced to the functioning of a Colgate-Palmolive plant. You will be required to understand all the important Key Performance Indicators of the plant and the ways by which these get influenced by HR. You will be required to study the Industrial Relations scenario at that particular location with an emphasis on IR History, Features of Collective Bargaining Agreement, Employee motivation. Your project will challenge you to apply the theories and concepts of Organizational Behavior and Change Management to bring about interventions that influence changes in processes, systems and thinking patterns. You will also get a deeper understanding of Plant Operations in this assignment.

Learning: Introduction to Plant operations, the dynamics of change management initiatives with an emphasis on employee relations and its importance in plant productivity, Collective Bargaining Agreement process and Strategic Labour Relations at Colgate.

CORPORATE HR

Duration: 6 months

Nature of Project/Assignment: In this stint you will gain exposure to various global management development processes and programmes undertaken for the entire Company. Specific areas covered during this assignment are:

Talent Management: You will be familiarsied with the performance management systems and the process of career development. You will work on live projects using the various avenues for recruitment including internet-based Recruitment and Assesment Centres.

Training and Development: The training systems and processes including Need Identification, implementation and training effectiveness.

Compensation and Benefits: Here you will be exposed to the compensation and reward philosophy of Colgate and the various processes related to compensation administration, including benefits applicable to various grades.

Learning: This stint will give you insights into the HR philosophy of the Company and involve you in some of the HR initiatives.

SALES

Duration: 1 month

Nature of Project/Assignment: You will undertake a shadow Sales Territory Supervisor (STS) for one month which will provide you an opportunity learn the art and science of Sales in Colgate-Palmolive from an experienced STS.

Learning: You will learn about the Colgate-Palmolive Sales systems - Distribution network, Stockiest, Counseling and Management, Sales force management and gain an in-depth knowledge of how to leverage technology in sales.

MARKETING

Duration: 1 month

Nature of Project/Assignment: You'll be exposed to consumer promotions, designing a product launch and exploring new channels.

Learning: This stint will add to your perspective of the portfolio of Colgate-Palmolive and 'Go to Market' strategies. You will get to work on live projects and hence gather a wealth of information through this stint. You will get continuous performance counseling and coaching from all stakeholders throughout this stint.

In addition to this, you will get exposure to the Finance functions for a couple of weeks.

On confirmation: You would be posted in one of our plants to get hands on experience in plant HR/Sales HR.
